QMA Nursery

This term we have been learning about space and aliens. We have been looking at two special books. The first book is called ‘Here comes the aliens’.

The second book is called ‘Whatever next’ which is about a bear and an owl that  fly to the moon in a carboard box.

When you come into nursery you may notice our funny aliens that the children have imagined and painted/drawn all by themselves.

Thanks to the kind donations of plastic bottles and boxes etc. We were able to make some funky colourful rockets which the children really enjoyed making.

Nature has given us a treat.

We have been learning about the white stuff. SNOW!.

What happens when we take the cold snow into a warm room?

For fun we built a snowman. We helped dress him and Mrs Martin gave him 2 gem eyes.

We also made some snow angels.

As you will all be aware it is christmas concert time and the staff and children have  been working very hard to learn a selection of  fabulous christmas songs to sing for you. Here is a sneak preview of our pratice session.

Just a reminder nursery concert is on Wednesday 16^th December

For the morning nursery it will start at 11.00am

For the afternoon nursery it will start at 2.15pm

Tickets can be purchased from the school reception if you do not yet have yours.

We hope you all enjoy our concerts and look forward to seeing you when we return to nursery on Wednesday 6^th January.

This term we are learning about our senses:

Listening

Touching

Looking

Smelling

Tasting.

We have had several walks around school to see what sounds we could hear for example birds singing, leaves crunching and many other sounds.

We have been tasting the fruits of the Autumn season

In the nursery we have had an exciting few weeks, with Halloween parties for the morning and afternoon children, with an opportunity to have your face painted, and a Halloween party with Foundation2 children after school. All good fun!!   

 When we returned after the half term holiday, the builders had started work on the community room.  We have had to make one or two changes whilst this work is going on, and we appreciate all the support from our wonderful parents and carers during this time. 

For the next few weeks the session times for nursery are:- 

 8:55-11:55     and     12:05-3:05

Welcome back to a new challenging and exciting term. This  term the nursery are running 3 groups of part time children.

• Snowflake group lead by Mrs Martin
• Sunshinegroup lead by Mrs Michealson
• Moonbeam group lead by Mrs Nicholson/Mrs Asher

Our TA this term are Mrs Litchfield and Mrs Fowler.

Despite having so many new children starting, we are happy that the children are beginning to settle in quickly and the tears at the beginning of the sessions are becoming less and less.
